The Key Club is a service organization associated with Kiwanis International. Our purpose is to participate in various service projects, both on our own, and in conjunction with the district and international level Key Club and the local Kiwanis organization, and to create life-long community service leaders. During the past few years we have been involved with Alexander City Oktoberfest, RIF (Reading is Fundamental), the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast and the Kiwanis Skeet Shoot to benefit the Gateway Education Scholarship Fund, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Christmas, and several other service projects. All members are expected to participate in several service projects and earn a minimum number of service points each semester. Our membership dues are $25, most of which goes to pay our district and international membership dues. The membership requirements are the regular no-pass-no-participation standards and a clean discipline record for at least one full school year. We will accept applicants who meet these standards and are willing to give of their time for service to the community. We hold our annual membership drive during the first month of the school year and will accept applications at that time.
