Bachelors in History from the University of Alabama

Masters in Secondary Education from Jacksonville State University

This will be my third year at Benjamin Russell High School.

I graduated from Daleville High School (Daleville, Al) in 1999. I initially attended Troy State University where I was a walk-on football player before transferring to the University of Alabama where I also walked-on briefly. Inspired by the events of September 11th, 2001, I eventually came to the decision to withdraw from UA in order to enlist in the U.S. Army. Serving as a 19D Cavalry Scout, I would deploy to Iraq for fifteen months from August 2006- November 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and then twice to Afghanistan (2009-2010, 2012) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After leaving the military on January 1st, 2013 I re-enrolled at the University of Alabama so that I could complete my undergraduate degree in History and pursue my goal of becoming a teacher. I graduated from UA in August 2014 and immediately began work on my Master's and teaching certification from JSU. I was hired to teach here at Benjamin Russell prior to the 2016-17 school year and have taught U.S II, AP U.S., Government/Economics, as well as World History in that time while also coaching middle school football and soccer, and now JV boys basketball. I am married and have two sons.
